Ask Brian Doolan, Osteopractor and Doctor of Physical Therapy, where his motivation to open Back in Motion comes from, and he’ll take you on a trip down memory lane. “I got hurt a lot in high school,” he recalls. “I remember physical therapists helping me out a lot.”

Brian was a unique athlete in his earlier days. Not only did he participate in traditional sports, but he was also an avid dancer. “My dance background gave me a unique perspective on how the body works and what muscles control motions,” he said.

He used this perspective to pursue a career in physical therapy. After earlier experiences with large medical facilities and smaller independent practices, he became frustrated. “I felt like there were too many restrictions on how I could treat the patient,” he said. “I couldn’t provide them with the most effective treatment.”

He decided a different approach was required. He opened Back in Motion to provide a practice that spends plenty of time with patients upfront, and then uses advanced Manual Therapy techniques to help them heal faster.

The approach has been highly successful, but Brian believes that his work has only just begun. “We’re always looking for ways to improve,” he said. “And if there’s a way to help people feel better faster, we’re going to find it.”
