Are you a Desk Jockey? Do you spend most of your workday sitting at a desk, staring at the computer? If you do, you’re a Desk Jockey and this month’s newsletter is just for you!  Unfortunately, if you are a Desk Jockey, which many are, our bodies need to move to stay healthy. Here are some quick exercises that you can incorporate into your workday to help your posture, mobility and mood.

1.       Desk Jockeys need to walk

Go for a 5-10 minute walk. Walking is a great way to de-load the spine and lubricate joints. Walking will also increase blood flow to your whole body, reduces mental fatigue, promotes creativity and reduces the risk of chronic diseases.

2.       Desk Jockey chair exercises

If you can’t get up and go for a walk, don’t give up.  There are some great exercises you can do just sitting in your chair at work.  Watch this short video for ideas on ways to keep mobile while at your desk.

3.       Desk jockey dynamic exercises

If you have a job that allows you to be a little more mobile and have some privacy from your co-workers, try these quick and easy exercises to help with your strength and mobility while at work.

I encourage you to try a few, or all, of these exercises to see how much better your day can be. Just a few short breaks throughout your day to focus on yourself and your wellbeing can do wonders.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
